(Note- The Embroidery Fabric gets ironed,  \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eNOT the stabiliser!!)\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2. Trace your chosen embroidery design onto the front of your embroidery fabric with your Pigma Pen (or Uni Pin) ...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThen, once all of your embroidery design is fully traced onto the front of the fabric - ... (\u003cem\u003eiron it \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eagain\u003c\/span\u003e IF NECESSARY to get any final creases out of it).\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e3. Cut your weavelive so it is approx \u003cstrong\u003e1\/2 \" less than the measurements of your Embroidery fabric...\u003c\/strong\u003e  so that when you \"centre\" the stabiliser behind it,  you will have an approximate 1\/4\" clearance all the way around it (on the back of the fabric).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e *With the WRONG SIDES of the fabric \u0026amp; the wrong side of the stabiliser facing together (ie the 'sticky'\/granular side of the stabiliser facing the BACK OF THE FABRIC).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e**Iron the \u003cstrong\u003eFRONT OF YOUR FABRIC\u003c\/strong\u003e (with the stabiliser being behind it). The weavelive is centred on the back of your FABRIC,  ... Remember,  it will have a 1\/4\" clearance all the way around it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWith the FRONT of your embroidery design  facing up AT YOU... Iron the front of your FABRIC with a hot Iron on the high steam setting ... \u003c\/strong\u003e(what you are doing is melting the glue product - to make the stabiliser stick to the back of your embroidery fabric). It must be hot \u0026amp; steamy (ie full of water) to ensure the 'glue' does melt and adhere properly to the back of the fabric. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e* Make sure there are no little bits of stabiliser sticking out from the edges of your fabric... or you will have a sticky black residue ... melted on your iron OR on your fabric (definitely something to avoid !)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e*Use your \u003cstrong\u003eiron (with water in it) on a high steam setting\u003c\/strong\u003e (so it melts the little gluey\/grainy bits... thus adhering to THE BACK of your chosen fabric) really well. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e *Becareful not to get the above wrong or you'll have sticky black glue all over your iron... and probably on your beautiful project too!!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e*(I do sell quality Applique Mats that help stop this happening too.)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePigma Pens- \u003c\/strong\u003e*MY preferred method of 'tracing' the designs onto the embroidery fabric is with a  Pigma  Pen... (now also known as a Uni Pin) these can be found on my site too... and are highly recommended. They are a permanent, non acidic, non yellowing,  non bleeding fine permanent marker that IS of archival quality,  and IS intended to be used on fabric. (Anywhere where you need to create consistant 'wraps' around the needle shaft... of the same diameter... so that the needle easiy pulls through). \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shaft is the same all the way along,  with the eye ever-so-slightly wider to accommodate the thread... and it tapers off to make the very sharp, fine tip. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e** This packet of Needles is my preferred choice for doing all my Bullion\/Grub Roses in Embroidery.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is also my personal \u003cstrong\u003efavourite brand\u003c\/strong\u003e of beautiful FRENCH NEEDLES for using when doing all our Embroidery Grub Roses \u0026amp; Bullion Stitches. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn a mixed sized packet of Straw Milliners Needles - Size 3-9 in the Packet, the biggest thing to understand is- ...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTIP\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e....The numbers in the haberdashery system are \u003cem\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eOPPOSITE to our counting system...\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e( ie The Smallest number in our counting system (in this instance would be the No.3... actually equals the largest needle in the packet etc!!! ) ... and vice versa -\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhat would be the largest counting number in this set (ie the No9)... would actually be the smallest needle is this packet!!!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e***So,  once you understand that everything is sized opposite to our counting system,  then it makes it so much easier to understand when to use which particular numbered Needle.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnd, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e*If you are not sure which number you've used,... simply line them all up so that the bottom tips of the needles all running in a straight line...at the bottom...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou'll see them create a pyramid shape. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e3 will be the LARGEST SIZE NEEDLE in the middle of this packet. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e9 will be the SMALLEST SIZE NEEDLE (on the very outside edges) of this packet. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e...ie. This will cause continual friction on the thread 'pulling through',  resulting in damage\/fluffing to your thread, (and fabric), with over-tugging on your needle to get through- which strains\/ stretches and throws out your embroideries tension too... and ultimately too much strain\/ pulling on your thread WILL result in breakage! ... and tension problems in the hoop, (and the project you are working on),  which is not good!   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTIPS\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you've been using your needle and you are no longer sure which needle number it is, ...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSimply line them all up again (back in the original packet)...so the sharp tips of the needles all meet along the bottom 'imaginary line'... So the bag actually 'stands up' (and stays up) by itsef, then you may prefer to use the 2 great FUSIBLE FOAM products that I have available instead. If you don't use high steam heat, it won't fully melt and adhere properly to the back of your product... and may come away later on. *Once your ironed product has cooled down,... you can easily check your corners etc to make sure it has all stuck on well. (If not, simply fill the tank with water again and heat and repeat. Don't iron on the actual pellon!! \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eIron with the high steam setting, having the Iron on your FABRIC... not directly on the Pellon.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eContinue to move your iron around so that it doesn't scorch sitting too long in the one place. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eYou'll be able to tell if it has stuck to your fabric correctly... when it cools down. IF the fabric hasn't stick in the corners etc... just high steam it again (so the glue melts properly).\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ePlease be sure to have the 'grainy\/ sticky side' of the adhesive product facing to the BACK of your fabric. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eDo not have the adhesive product sticking out beyond your fabric - or it will melt and leave a sticky residue (usually burnt black on your iron, ironing board etc 🙃🙂🙃...NOT what you want to happen).
